Rice bowls have become deeply rooted cultural objects that have the potential to help us understand ourselves and the place in which we live. The form invites us to cradle and contemplate. The decorative scheme reminds us of relationships, feelings and beliefs. These bowls are beckoning us to take time to share and remember. The presentation cabinet is designed to showcase the importance of meaningful objects by utilizing intricate joinery, quartersawn White Oak, and a door that suggests sharing our deepest and fragile feelings with only a select few. In a sense, it is a shrine to help us understand who we are.
